LARPING FAQ's [THE EXPERIENCE]
LARPing (Live Action Role Playing), is a thrilling blend of theater, gaming, and improvisation where you become the hero (or villain) of your own epic. Imagine diving headfirst into a vibrant, living world where your favorite fantasy novels, historical eras, or futuristic landscapes come to life. Donned in meticulously crafted costumes and wielding props that range from spell books to foam swords, participants fully embody their characters, complete with backstories, ambitions, and entangled destinies.
There is no one answer to this question as every LARP has its own dress code. However, most LARPs require participants to wear costumes appropriate for the setting and genre of the game. This could include anything from medieval armor to futuristic space suits. Be sure to check with our event guides for specific instructions.
Yes, it is highly encouraged for you to bring your own costume and props. However, we do have a limited supply of costumes and props available for purchase on the website. Please inquire with our staff if you need assistance in finding an appropriate costume or prop.
We ask that all participants refrain from taking photos or videos during our experiences in order to maintain an immersive atmosphere for all players. We do, however, allow for designated breaks where photos and videos can be taken.
Our experiences usually last around 5-7 hours, but times may vary depending on the activities and special events that will take place. We send out detailed information to participants before the experience with any necessary information.
Our experiences are open to participants 18 years and older. If you are under 18 and still interested in participating, please contact us to see if special arrangements can be made. However, we do recommend that children under the age of 12 have a guardian present during their experience. Please contact us before booking if you have any concerns.
While there may be some light physical activity, such as walking or standing for extended periods of time, we do not have any strenuous physical challenges in our experiences. Seating, however, could be limited at times during the event proper.
There is a designated safe word that can be used at any time during gameplay to immediately stop action. We also have trained staff on hand to ensure the safety and well-being of all participants.
SAFE WORD: LANCELOT
We provide refreshments areas during designated breaks for certain invitation/pass holders.
While we don't allow bringing in food inside the event space, we do allow our players to go off-site for lunch or dinner breaks. We ask that you please dispose of any trash in designated garbage areas and not leave anything behind in the event space.
No prior knowledge or experience is necessary to participate in our experiences. Our game masters, website, and community socials will provide all the information and support you need to fully immerse yourself in your character and the world of The Faeble. All we ask is that you come with an open mind and a willingness to try something new!
You are more than welcome to create and play as your own character, however, we do ask that you go by the event theme to ensure they fit within the world of The Faeble.
Yes, costumes are highly encouraged in order to get into the spirit of things during our events. Costumes play an important role in immersing players in the world of fantasy and bringing their characters to life. If you need help finding or creating a costume, click here. The Faeble reserves the right to turn down players who do not adhere to the costume guidelines. If you are unsure if your costume meets the requirements, please contact us on our social media and in our Discord community.
While it's highly encouraged to join the activities, we don't require participants to actively participate in the LARP. You are welcome to simply observe and watch the events unfold. However, we do ask that you respect the space and players by refraining from disrupting the immersive experience.
Yes, you can leave and come back during the experience as long as you secure and keep your event passes on your person when re-entering the event. You should be able to re-enter the event by bringing the right passes in the day itself.
However, please be aware that certain in-game events may occur while you are away, so it is up to your character to catch up with the story upon your return. It is also important to note that leaving and returning may affect the flow and immersion of the overall LARP experience for yourself. So, if possible, try to plan ahead and make arrangements for any necessary breaks during the event.
No, the use of real weapons is not allowed in LARPing. Instead, foam weaponry is utilized to mimic combat without causing harm. It is important to always abide by the game's safety rules and guidelines regarding weapons.
Absolutely! Non-LARPers are welcome to join in on the fun as long as they are willing to take on a character and abide by the game's rules. Just be sure to give them some background information on LARPing beforehand so they know what to expect. Who knows, they may even end up becoming a fellow LARP enthusiast!
We do not allow any real weapons or props to be brought into the experience. To ensure the safety of all our guests, we have a list of prohibited items that cannot be brought into the venue. If you bring any of these items, security will store them in the event's Security Office and you can retrieve them at the end of the event:
